“There are many children that need a family, that need the gift of family every day,” Christian Family Care’s chief programs officer, Pam Giardina said while being interviewed for Christian Family Care’s Family Care Learning podcast.
In this episode, Giardina said how much we need ordinary families to love these children in foster care, to receive them into their homes and into their hearts for a temporary season.
“I would just ask people to pray about it, you know, is God calling them to this very unique way to serve Him?” Giardina said.
To become a foster parent, is to do something of eternal value in purpose for hurting children. “The seeds that I sow of love and grace and faith can take that child far down the road of life over the boulders and things that they have to do,” Giardina said.
Our prayer at Christian Family Care is that people would stop and think, ‘Is this what God is calling us to do?’ To be the one family for that child or for adoption.
Giardina also emphasized the need for older children and youth to be fostered or adopted. “That’s where we have tremendous need for children. We have kids waiting in group homes for family; the gift of family,” she said.
