Volunteer at Family Care KIDS
POSITION SUMMARY
The early childhood development volunteer works with the Lead and Assistant Teachers to provide a warm and loving atmosphere for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years at the Family Care KIDS Learning Center. Teachers and volunteers work together to support the spiritual, academic, and social development of children in the Early Childhood Development Program. Volunteers must be able to work in a team setting, with patience, enthusiasm, and respect for children.
Monday – Friday
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Encourages children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development skills through positive interactions
- Assists teachers in implementing a curriculum based on Social/Emotional skills and Literacy.
- Assists with the basic needs of children.
- Follows all center policies and guidelines.
- Works with children experiencing difficulty as assigned.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Lead Teacher and/or Coordinator. REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ months experience in classroom setting
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education best practices
- Ability to manage time and plan effectively in a fast-paced, fluid work environment required.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality at all times required
- Ability to work well both individually and within a team environment required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required
- Must agree with CFC Statement of Faith.
REQUIREMENTS
- AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
- AZDCS Direct Service Central Registry Clearance Check
- CPR/1st Aid Certification
- Food Handler’s Card
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Negative TB Test

Mentor a Foster Child
Provide vulnerable youth, young adults, and young parents with a mentor who will have a consistent presence in their lives. Mentees receive support, encouragement, and guidance from a stable adult who has a strong relationship with Jesus.
